    Chinese Society for Agricultural Biotechnology(CSAB)was founded in 1991.It is approved by Ministry of Civil Affairs and is superintended by Ministry of Agriculture. CSAB includes 5 sub-societies: sub-society for crop biotechnology, for animal biotechnology, for microbiology biotechnology, for plant micro-propagation technology and for biosafety respectively. At present, CSAB has 200 organization members and about 700 individual members.

    CSAB aims at promoting the development and prosperity of agricultural biotechnology. The operation including: organization and coordination of agricultural biotech research and academic exchange, carrying out project evaluation and research on policy and regulation, related scientific consultation and training, enhancement of application of agricultural biotech knowledge and product, coordination of the non-governmental international technology communication and cooperation and participation in the publication of Journals of Agricultural Biotechnology.
