Research Goal: 

1) Using functional genomics approaches to identify and characterize the key genes and regulatory networks controlling yield and abiotic stress-related agronomic traits, such as heterosis, light density tolerance, ideal plant architecture and drought stress tolerance;

2)  Exploiting the selective sweeps/genes involved in maize domestication and breeding, and identifying the super alleles in natural variations for molecular breeding of new cultivars with increased yield, stress-tolerance and better quality.
